Who we are

James set up JB Storage Solutions in Brighouse in 2023. It didn't come out of nowhere: his parents, Martin and Charlotte, had started MB Storage in Batley in 2020, beginning with a single yard of 60 brand-new containers. They'd spotted something simple - plenty of places would rent you a container, but far fewer could give you a brand-new one, in a yard that was clean, tidy and properly looked after.

Brighouse got the same treatment: new containers, a gated yard on Calder Street, and someone local who actually answers the phone. The town took to it quickly, and JB now holds a 5.0 rating from more than 50 Google reviews.

The family business has kept growing since - a second yard in Batley, a site in Liversedge in 2025, and a new yard in Stourton, Leeds in 2026. Four sites across West Yorkshire in six years, all run the same way.

These days Martin and Charlotte have taken a step back, and James runs both JB Storage and MB Storage with his partner Megan.

Being family-run means you deal with the people who own the place. Ring the number on this site and you get James or Megan - not a call centre, and not a national chain that has never set foot in Brighouse.

Why a container, and not a room in a building

A container isn't a unit down a corridor. You drive right up to the doors and load at ground level - no lifts, no trolleys, no booking a slot at a loading bay. It's sealed weatherproof steel, so your things stay dry, and you fit your own padlock, so you're the only one with a key. The gates open from your phone, which means you can get to your things at 6am on a Sunday if that's when you need them.

It also means you can come and look before you commit. We're a real yard with a real gate - not a van that turns up and takes your things somewhere you'll never see them.

Calder Street, Brighouse HD6 - two minutes from the town centre, and easy to reach from Rastrick, Elland, Hipperholme, Bailiff Bridge and Cleckheaton. There's room to turn a van on site, and you can drive right up to your container door.
